Disney Cruise Vacation

Table of Contents

There’s a Facebook group for every Disney Cruise sailing. These provide an ideal place to share trip countdowns and ramp up excitement (notice how I wrote “typing in all caps”)!

Group cruises also serve as an easy way to meet other passengers – sometimes there are even “meet ups” before setting sail so you can put real faces with Facebook profiles!

Rooms

Disney rooms tend to be larger than most others on other ships, outside of suites which come equipped with concierge services and incur an additional price tag. Each one is fitted with windows and often includes seating area outside its door; for those suffering from sea sickness, a view of water may help alleviate symptoms.

Booking early is the key to guaranteeing availability of cabins you desire on Disney Cruise Line; since there are rarely stateroom sales, and prices usually increase rather than decrease as cruise dates approach.

Guaranteed Stateroom options usually provide the lowest rates, enabling guests to book online. While these rooms don’t guarantee their desired room type, they help avoid paying higher rates.

Activities Disney Cruises

No matter your desire for adventure or relaxation, Disney cruises offer something for everyone on-board! Activities range from thrilling waterslides to unique restaurants and Broadway-style shows such as Fantastic Journey. Plus you can embark on an incredible 3-D voyage!

Children will love sailing aboard a Disney cruise! From special play areas and character meet-and-greets, to Kid’s Clubs that cater specifically for each age, your young ones are sure to have fun while you relax or indulge in spa services or adult time!

Be adventurous! All meals onboard a Disney cruise are included; don’t hesitate to try everything! Menus for each restaurant can be found in your Personal Navigator (the daily newsletter that details activities aboard ship) or posted at the lobby atrium message board.

Entertainment

Cruise lines provide an ideal combination of adult spaces and kid-oriented entertainment, making it the ideal option for multigenerational vacations. Expect full-length Broadway-caliber shows alongside intimate trivia contests, cooking lessons, drawing workshops and games hosted by crew members – making for a delightful multigenerational getaway!

Disney’s classic tale comes to life on board the ship with Beauty and the Beast, expanding upon some of the more imaginative aspects from the live-action film. Additionally, Tangled Up features music from Tangled as well as original tunes written specifically for Tangled Up’s spectacular.

Other kids-centric attractions onboard the ship include Oceaneers Club & Lab (ages 3-to-12), Edge (11-14) and Vibe, an exclusively teenage space onboard featuring a giant water slide, Goofy-inspired mini golf and themed deck parties with characters.

Food Disney Cruise Vacation

There is an array of dining options aboard The Voyage of Discovery. Many adult-only restaurants on board such as Palo’s exquisite Italian fare and Remy’s three Michelin star chef Arnaud Lallement-inspired menu. There is also Keg & Compass Pub which draws its inspiration from Norse map rooms as well as Nightingale Piano Bar named after Cinderella’s rendition of “Sweet Nightingale.”

Cruises include meals in the main dining rooms of their ship and offer buffet and quick service options for lunch and snacks. All table service restaurants provide gluten free menu items to ensure everyone with dietary restrictions feels safe and at ease on board.

There are usually two dinner seatings each evening and your server will accompany you from restaurant to restaurant. Private tables for large groups can often be requested but may not always be guaranteed.

Drinks

Most cruise lines provide drinks packages which include unlimited drinks on board the ship. This service serves as an important source of revenue for them; they must sell enough drinks packages to cover their costs of providing these beverages to guests.

Drinks on a cruise are available from various bars and lounges onboard, while certain locations such as Crown and Fin offer drinks paired with food options.

At dinner, a special selection of drinks are designed to complement the theme and food of each restaurant, including both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. Bottled wine may also be purchased for an additional cost – and should you have any left over bottles when disembarking, you are free to take them with you as souvenirs!
