Welcome to the beginning of our “Christmas Markets of
Montreal and Quebec City” tour.
Start your day with a guided sightseeing tour of Montreal in its winter finery, taking in key spots like Jacques Cartier Square, McGill University, and the Underground City, where locals escape the cold and move around the city in comfort.
You’ll ride up to Mount Royal for wide city views and a simple introduction to how Montreal got its name, then enjoy free time in Old Montreal for lunch, a warm drink, and unhurried exploring at your own pace.
Later, you’ll visit one of Montreal’s Christmas market areas to stroll past local vendors and holiday stalls, before gathering with your fellow travelers this evening for a welcome dinner and time to get to know the group.
Breakfast & Dinner are included.
Leave Montreal this morning and travel northeast to Quebec City, the historic center of French culture in Canada and your base for the next part of this festive trip.
When you arrive, you’ll have free time for lunch and a relaxed walk through Old Quebec, a UNESCO World Heritage area with cobblestone streets, stone buildings, and plenty of small shops and cafés to explore at your own pace.
Later in the afternoon, check into your hotel and, if you like, join a gentle evening stroll in the Old Town before gathering with the group for dinner in a warm, holiday‑lit setting.
Breakfast & Dinner are included.
Start the day with a guided city tour of Quebec City, where your local guide will share stories about Quebecois holiday traditions as you see some of the area’s key historic sights. You’ll get a better feel for how the city celebrates winter and what you’re seeing as you walk.
Later, you’ll have a choice of experiences: you can join a hands-on copper workshop at the family‑run Albert Gilles Copper Studio, creating your own Christmas ornament to bring home, or you can take a guided visit of the decorated Château Frontenac, focusing on its history, architecture, and role in the city. Both options are designed to be welcoming and to give you a meaningful keepsake—either something you’ve made or memorable stories tied to an iconic hotel.
The rest of the evening is yours to enjoy as you like, whether that means a relaxed dinner, another stroll through the Old Town, or simply putting your feet up at the hotel.
Breakfast is included.
This morning, roll up your sleeves for a private workshop where you’ll learn how to create the classic Bûche de Noël, a traditional holiday cake shaped like a Yule log. You’ll practice rolling a delicate chocolate sponge filled with rich mousse and decorating it with buttercream designed to look like tree bark, complete with meringue mushrooms.
After your sweet creation, enjoy a visit to Montmorency Falls, just 15 minutes from Quebec City, where you can marvel at the stunning 83-meter (272-foot) waterfall—30 meters taller than Niagara Falls. Take in breathtaking views from a suspension bridge above the falls, stroll scenic trails, and soak up the natural beauty of this year-round attraction.
Later, spend your evening at leisure wandering the festive streets of Old Quebec, glowing with holiday lights and decorations, truly embracing the spirit of a traditional Quebecois Christmas.
Breakfast is included.
Start your day with breakfast at a traditional Quebec sugar shack out in the countryside, where you’ll enjoy hearty local foods like pea soup, omelets, and baked beans—all drizzled with fresh maple syrup. Your hosts will walk you through the time-honored process of maple syrup production, from tapping the trees to boiling down the sap, a practice passed down from Indigenous peoples to French settlers and still celebrated today.
Before heading out, try the fun regional treat of maple taffy: hot syrup poured on snow that you roll up on a stick for a sweet, sticky snack. In the afternoon, travel back to Montreal, giving you time to relax and reflect on the trip’s highlights along the way.
That evening, gather one last time with Sandra, Nancy, and your fellow travelers for a farewell dinner to toast the memories you’ve made.
Breakfast & Dinner are included.
As your trip comes to a close today, take a final morning to enjoy breakfast and reflect on the wonderful experiences you’ve shared in Montreal and Quebec City.
From exploring charming Christmas markets to savoring local food, taking part in hands-on workshops, and immersing yourself in festive traditions, this journey has offered a perfect blend of culture, comfort, and holiday spirit.
Whether it was wandering cobblestone streets illuminated with twinkling lights or marveling at natural wonders like Montmorency Falls, your memories will be full of warmth and cheer.
As you prepare for your departure, may the sights, tastes, and friendships from this festive adventure stay with you long after you return home.
Merci et bon voyage!
